Yes it's another Power Poppy floral card — rudbeckias and berries this time — but at least I changed up the usual pink and purple Copic palette for a more autumnal one, and then finished it off with coloured pencils.
Dyed paper tags
I rarely make tags so it made a change to follow this Fodder Challenge class and use some of my precious dyed papers and pressed foliage.
Lollipop bunny
I had run out of bunnies, I wasn't being inspired by the ones I was finding online and I couldn't possibly make anything other than a bunny birthday card, so there was only one thing left to do: design my own.
One-page booklet “purple”
I had another go at making a one-page booklet with pockets but this time I made a few changes (mostly involving adhesive). I am happier with this design but it's still not perfect.
Berberis landscape
Another birthday, another card. This time I made a gelli print landscape, and then had to create my own stencil to complete the design.
Messy May “yes”
This prompt was just the nudge I needed to have a go at something that has been on my "must try" list for a while: a little guided serendipity creating abstract landscapes with just ink and water.
80th roses and violets
This card was an exercise in finding balance between "it's a big birthday, let's shout it from the rooftops" and my own "age is a meaningless number" aversion to drawing attention to it. I'm happy with the compromise...
One-page booklet “leaf”
One of the classes in the Fodder Challenge encouraged me to actually make a one-page booklet instead of just thinking about it. I like a lot of things about it but there has to be a better design out there.
Messy May “belonging”
This Messy May challenge gave further confirmation that I am much more inspired by technique prompts than word prompts. And I got to use some of my precious dried flowers and Japanese paper in the process.
Awaken #4 sign
The last quarter of the "scattered rings" alcohol ink piece gets enhanced with some asemic writing and a graffiti-inspired tag.
Steam duck
This is what happens when I ask for suggestions for a card design: I end up designing a digi stamp from scratch and having to work out how to colour distressed yellow metal, all to create "steam duck".
Messy May “flow”
This Messy May prompt to achieve a state of flow was asking a bit much, but I still enjoyed making this Klee-inspired block painting.
Awaken #3 trails
The third of my doodled alcohol ink quarters. After some trial and error, I ended up foiling these particle trails over the cloudy background.
Denim feathers
Fluffy feathers made out of denim — another of those things that has popped up regularly in my Pinterest feed over the years and now I've finally had a go at making them.
Messy May “kindness”
I wasn't particularly inspired by this Messy May prompt, but I did like the simple gelli plate technique the host used. I used that and my favourite butterflies to create this page.
