Birthdays are no respecters of how you’re feeling and annoyingly come along even when you have a horrible flu-y cold. And so it was I had to create a masculine card for my neighbour all while reaching for the tissues and breaking into a sweat. Ideal conditions to try something I haven’t done before ๐Ÿ™„

And that’s how I came to be colouring a vaguely realistic glass of whisky with Copics and coloured pencils.

Another catch-up post; this card was originally made on February 12th as part of the Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.

This is the coloured pencil version of my “colouring on kraft” trial. I find pencils to be physically much harder work than Copics, but I do like the results so I shall persevere, occasionally… The Copic version is over here for comparison.

Day twenty-nine of The Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge. I was looking for an excuse to try out the shiny new tin of coloured pencils I got for my birthday and these flowers from Altenew are just perfect for colouring. This is the first time I’ve made the effort to break out the tiny stamps in the set; I normally overlook them, but they really can add to the finished effect. I believe this is also the first truly one-layer card I have made.
