Another “throwback Thursday” post for another panel that I made and photographed last year (hence the 2017 watermark that I cannot be bothered to redo: I don’t need any more excuses to not get around to blogging this creation). This panel was made in response to a challenge to use a clipboard in a mixed media project.

Peacock panel

This is a bit of a “throwback Thursday” post. I made this panel, photographed it and even processed the photos when I made it last year; the one thing I didn’t do then was write up the blog post… This was only the second mixed media panel I had created. After the darker feel of the first, I wanted to make something lighter, with a more pastel palette. This metal peacock had been sitting in my stash, waiting for the right project to come along and I thought it would make a good starting point.

Spring flowers panel

I am definitely enjoying playing around with mixed media projects — I’ve spent most of my crafty time in March getting my hands covered in glue and paint (apart from those odd occasions when I actually remembered to put on disposable gloves). I am very much still at the stage of experimenting and am happy to take inspiration wherever I find it. This time it came in the form of a post on the That’s Crafty challenge blog: a call to Spring into Action.

Creepy tree panel

This wasn’t going to be a Halloween piece. This was originally going to be an autumnal scene. My starting point for this was a challenge to use half a bag of multicoloured sequins from the September Craft Box subscription. They’re not on here. They’ve been hand sewn onto a foam heart on a completely different project that I had to come up with when I realised the brightly coloured sequins weren’t going to end up anywhere near this panel.
