What:
Day twenty-six of the second Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge. A birthday card for a cat-owning friend and one of my favourite cards.
How:
The first thing I did was stamp each of the cat stamps on masking paper and fussy cut them out. The background panel was built up from the bottom by stamping cats in Versamark and heat embossing with clear embossing powder, then masking them and stamping the next row and heat embossing them, then repeat — mask, stamp, heat emboss — until I reached the top of the panel. Amazingly it turned out pretty much as I had imagined it when the idea popped into my head. I will admit to on slight oops with the masking, but luckily that happened just where I was planning on putting the main kitty.
I coloured the main cat with Copics and fussy cut it out. The sentiment was stamped on a spare bit of black card, heat embossed in silver and then trimmed into a banner shape.
The background panel was mounted flat on a red card base with just a narrow edge of colour showing through. The kitty and banner were popped up on some thin foam tape.
