Blank: Mouse with drink

Another month, another cute digi stamp for Gerda Steiner’s progressive challenge. This time it’s a little mouse with a very tall glass, looking like he belongs on a hot beach; so that’s where I put him. Checking back, I realised that I’ve been taking part in this challenge for a year now!

How:

The mouse was printed onto Neenah solar white, coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut out — I do find fussy cutting terribly satisfying — and I added a touch of Wink of Stella to his nose and some glossy accents over the glass, taking care to avoid the part of the straw that isn’t behind the glass.

The palm tree was die cut and also coloured with Copics. I used three green and three brown markers; using the dark and medium colours for the outline pieces and the medium and light ones for the insides.

The background was created on some Strathmore Bristol paper by masking off areas with Post-It tape and paper and blending Distress ink over. Texture was added to the sea with a stencil and to the sand with a brilliant texture stamp.

I fixed the background panel to the card base — picked because the colour matched the pink in his drink. I die-cut a small sun, coloured it and added some Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle. Then I glued the palm tree and sun flat to the background and popped the mouse up on some foam tape.
