The third piece based on one of my photos and another possible submission for the Twitter Art Exhibit. I love textures and details, both natural and man-made, and so these layers of road markings and mendings caught my eye when I was out for a walk.

As with the previous postcards, I’ve continued using this as an opportunity to play with different media.
This was created in three layers: firstly stippled black fineliner, then watercolour greys, and finally, acrylic paints for the markings and the kerb. I love how the texture and shine of the acrylic markings contrasts with the smooth background.

I do have some more photos picked out that I would like to turn into paintings, but this is the last of the ones made with the Twitter Art Exhibit in mind. Now I just have to decide which one to send.

This is really good and I like the way you spotted this composition from a very down to earth subject.
