The next instalment of twinchies created for the Mindful Art Studio Inchie Challenge. Twelve days of creating two-inch-square artworks in response to a prompt word. These are all created as ink drawings coloured with watercolours. The pen I used was a Winsor & Newton fineliner and the watercolours were a mix of Derwent Graphitint and Daler-Rowney aquafine travel palettes.
Here are days four to six.
Yellow
So many yellow possibilities. I chose a simple slice of lemon for this one and added a few touches of white paint to enhance the texture.
Wood
Trees, a stump, bark texture, all things I contemplated before remembering the bag of small driftwood pieces I have. I had a sort through them and found this interestingly shaped one.
Sea
Another one drawn from life rather than a photo reference. I felt that this one really needed a scene to sit in so I had a go at creating a dappled underwater setting — it’s the first time I’ve tried that and I like how it turned out.

These are wonderful! Love inchie challenges although I have never participated in one myself.

This is the first one I’ve done, the nearest thing before this was the Square-a-thon a couple of years ago but those were more like three inches square. It was definitely fun and not too big a commitment unlike the month long and 100 day (!) challenges…
