Series: Artful Academy 2020 journal #8
July’s theme for the Artful Academy Art Journalling Challenge 2020 was “story”. These are the sort of prompts that give me the most trouble — “think of a story that inspires you to use as inspiration for your art journal page” — now, I love reading fiction, but I can’t say that I can think of anything that has ever really inspired me (though I am most likely overthinking this). So I was trying to think of any stories that have stuck with me over the years; the main one from my childhood was “The Magic Faraway Tree”, but I used that for one of the Square-a-thon challenge prompts (I could have used it again, but I’d rather come up with something new).

Then I remembered one occasion when I was quite young. We were driving back home from Lincoln around dusk and I was sitting in the back seat with my aunty Brenda and she told me all about the fairies that came out in the evening and lit the lights along the bridge heading out of town. I don’t remember any more detail than that, but that snapshot of a moment in time has stayed with me for a very long time.

Oh how wonderful! I love the fairies in the nighttime! Thanks for sharing!
