Cat on a bookshelf

Because I spent March mostly working on mixed media pieces, I didn’t get around to making this until almost the last day of the month. And then my craft desk was still an absolute mess so I couldn’t take the photos to go with the blog post and I ended up putting a quick photo over on Instagram and linking that up to the challenge instead.

Luckily I had decided what I wanted to do with this image, so it was just a case of making the card rather than anguishing over what to do. Even better, I had made the tweaks to the digi stamp — turning it from a single bookshelf into two shelves — earlier in the month and had printed it out (all the things I could do without access to my craft desk).

I kept the colouring simple: the cat is the only thing with any real shading on it. I think that the fussy cutting took just as long to do as the colouring. Maybe even longer.

With it all carefully cut out I just had to glue it to a sheet of acetate, trim it down to size and attach it to a card back.
