My go-to provider of floral digi stamps is Power Poppy, who make the most gorgeous floral arrangements, but every now and again it’s nice to colour something simpler that I can add a few tweaks to.
Unfortunately, I discovered Wee Stamps just after she (hopefully temporarily) closed her digi stamp store, so I have to content myself with colouring her freebies for now.
This was the last piece of colouring I did for the recent 30-day colouring challenge and, in honour of Kathy Racoosin who runs it, I added some of her signature touches to the Copic colouring: “eyelashes” (or what I think of as blanket stitching) and white dots. Little additions like these can really make a difference to a simple image.
Rather than leave it languishing in my “coloured images” stash, I decided to turn it into a Mother’s Day card for my other half’s mum. I very carefully lined up two rectangular dies to cut it out with a border and then mounted it on a card base, popping the centre panel up on a piece of fun foam.
I originally thought I would heat emboss a sentiment on some vellum and mount that over the top, but I had a change of heart and decided to hand stamp (!) it instead (I can’t remember the last time I didn’t use a stamping platform for a sentiment).
I did contemplate adding some embellishments but I think the flowers work nicely on their own.
