Cupcake dragon

CR00473 square

There’s nothing like a young girl’s birthday to give you an excuse to break out the cute images and pink Copics 🙂 Okay, so a pink dragon might be a bit cliched, but it was fun to colour!

I decided to combine making this birthday card with the February IG Crafty Crew hard challenge, which also conveniently gave me some direction for the card design. It was a tic-tac-toe challenge: I’d already picked my dragon image, which fitted the “fantasy” option, so I chose the line that included “stencil” and “die-cut”.

I chose a piece of lightly patterned paper for the background and stencilled over it with pink Distress ink (I love this rocks stencil). I used die-cuts for the sentiments and then coloured them with Copic marker and gave them a coat of Wink of Stella.

After layering everything together, I finished it off with some little stars. Oh, and made a custom envelope for it.
