I really must try to finish blogging the last of the cards I made for the Sparkle & Shine class; I got all the glittery ones done and then ran out of steam… So here goes with the first of the foiled cards.
For this one, I used the balloon die cut left over from making the glitter balloon — can’t be wasting perfectly good card shapes — and brushed on a thin layer of Minc mist. Once that was dry, I rescued a piece of used foil from my scraps, lined it up over the die-cut, and ran it through the mini Minc machine. That gave me a nice shiny distressed rainbow balloon… but this was the Sparkle & Shine class and if ever there was an excuse to go overboard with the shiny, this was it. So I added a layer of glossy accents.
Once again, I kept the card design simple. A black card base to make the rainbow stand out, a bit of dimension courtesy of some fun foam, linen thread for a string, and a subtly shiny die-cut sentiment (I do like the sandgrain card).

Thanks! I’ve just picked up some decofoil transfer gel, so I’ll be trying foiling with my stencils soon.

I have the gel and tried it once. It works pretty good. I was just practicing. I was pretty happy with the result. 😀. I will be anxious to see what you think.

Well, I was going to just have a quick play with it, but I may have gone a bit overboard 🙂
