This was created on 6th July: day 2 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.
This card was directly inspired by Kathy Racoosin’s colouring book card on day one of the challenge. It’s nice to find a use for some of the pages from the various colouring books I’ve bought and been given. I like colouring, but I like putting it to use even more.
How:
I found a page I liked that would give me a good shaped edge to work with and marked out the area I would need to colour to cover the card front. Then I coloured it with Sharpies and blended some light blue Distress ink over the top.
I fussy cut around the outside edge, trimmed it to size and glued it flat to a blue card base. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine ink — even though I used the MISTI, I still managed to get it a bit wonky; luckily the only straight lines are the card edges so it’s not too obvious.
The top edge was looking a little bare so I added a strip of die-cut lace edging to give a bit of interest.
