Birthday: Bear and balloons

This card was created on 29th July: day 25 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.

I was going to be good about buying more stamp sets — I have a pile of ones waiting to be inked up — but these bears! How could I resist…

How:

For a change, I decided to keep it simple. Some straightforward stamping and Copic colouring with lots of white space. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine, which isn’t Copic-safe, so I had to be careful when I added the ground beneath the birthday. The highlights on the balloons were added with the colourless blender and the balloons were given a coat of Wink of Stella for sparkle. A few white gel pen dots brightened up the present, along with some more Wink of Stella on the ribbon. The panel was mounted flat on the card base with a strip of polka dot paper on either side.
