For a change, I actually felt like sitting down and doing some colouring for a card. I had a look through the last lot of Power Poppy digis I bought and narrowed it down to a choice of two: azaleas or magnolia. The azaleas gave me more colour options so they won out this time.
Like the peony bouquet card, I added a large heat-embossed sentiment. Unlike that card, I did not stop there. The shape of this digi stamp means that it doesn’t fill the card front well enough to just leave white space around it but I knew exactly which of my many stencils I wanted to use to fill in the blanks. I tested out a couple of the lighter pink Distress inks and wasn’t happy with how they fit with the colour of the azaleas so I switched to the old paper instead as that supports the image rather than fighting with it.
All in all I’m really happy with how this card turned out.
