OPA: Ocean Blue

As well as the paintings of silhouetted figures in city settings (like the one on our wall), Jo also paints more traditional seascapes. In the last couple of years the two have come together with her signature figures standing in the water, rather reminiscent of Antony Gormley’s Another Place at Crosby Beach, though those were solitary figures and Jo’s are much more hopeful, supportive groupings.

As previous patrons (“customers” just feels wrong), we were lucky enough to be offered a choice of pieces by Jo, and this one now lives in our hall.
