Art card: Bleeding Hearts

This started out as a piece of card with some drywall tape stuck to it. I had these flowers which were an offcut from last year’s Mother’s Day card andI knew I wanted to use them on this art card, but they needed some more contrast.

Several thin layers of paint gave me the sort of effect I wanted and I coloured in some of the squares for a little added interest. The texture created in the background is my favourite thing about this card.

Finding the right thing to finish off the other side was tricky. Eventually I came across a few strips trimmed off the edge of some spiral-bound paper which did the job nicely once I had painted them.
