I don’t make many Easter cards — just one for my mum and one for my other half’s sister because she loves bunnies. For my mum, I decided to go down the floral route.
Which means more Power Poppy flowers. And this time I treated myself to a new digi; Heart Abloom is a heart-shaped collection of spring flowers, but I chose to zoom in and fill most of the card front. I added the sentiment on the computer before printing the image out and colouring it with Copic markers.
I usually choose colours for flowers based on what I feel like colouring. This time I turned to Google images for some inspiration as I wasn’t sure what palette to use for the hellebores. It was fun trying to recreate more realistic flowers for a change. So many dots! I added a little shading to the banner and flat-coloured the background before trimming it down to match my card base. The only embellishment was the tiniest drop of shimmer on the stamens.
This has to be the simplest card design I’ve done in a very long time!
