Elephant and balloons

CR00465 square

A new member of the extended family was imminent, so a card had to be made. And I thought this cute little elephant floating away with his balloons would do the job nicely.

A quick check back on Facebook confirmed my vague memory that it was going to be a boy, so I took out all the blue Copics and set to work. The BV2n markers are a really nice alternative to straight greys for an elephant.

I coloured all the balloons in different blue blends and added a white highlight to all of them (apart from the one tucked in underneath).

For the background, I die-cut some heavyweight acetate with a cloud edge die to create a mask and used a stencil brush and some Distress ink to create a cloudy sky for the elephant to float in.

I stamped the sentiment, die-cut the panel out and then layered it over a piece of plaid patterned paper on the card base. A few blue stars finished it off.
