I just felt like having a play with Distress oxide inks and trying out my new sentiment die, so I made a quick birthday card.
I masked off a diagonal band, blended Distress oxide inks across it and then flicked water drops over to lift some of the ink and add a bit of texture.
I drew some faux stitching along the edges of the band with a silver gel pen and then flicked black paint over the whole panel.
The sentiment was die cut from black card and covered with Wink of Stella to give a little sparkle. Once that was glued in place, I added some glossy accents dots to finish it off.
Supplies:
- dies:
Fuzzy Lemon – happy birthday - pens:
Uni-ball Signo UM-153 silver - colour:
Distress oxide ink – picked raspberry, wild honey, spiced marmalade
Distress paint – black - embellishments:
Ranger glossy accents
Wink of Stella – clear - paper and card:
Strathmore Bristol smooth
black card
Hunkydory Adorable Scorable – pearly shimmer
Oh what a great simple card! Love this! 😀

Thanks! It’s always useful having a couple of quick-to-make designs on hand (and it’s fun playing with ink blending).
