Hello! Welcome to day 2 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Today is the FIRST day of a THREE DAY hop to help jumpstart your creativity. If you’re new to the colouring challenge or have any questions about it you can take a look at Kathy’s introductory post.
If you arrived here from Sandy over at Three Room Studio then you are in the right place. To start at the beginning of the hop go to The Daily Marker’s blog here.

I love Kathy’s colouring challenges — they are the perfect opportunity to play around with different styles, mediums and techniques.
So, even though I stuck with my favourite Copic markers for the hop, I looked for ways to stretch myself. I’ve only recently started feeling at all comfortable colouring hair so why not jump in the deep end with this digi stamp with her massive stack of hair? And then experiment with adding detail to Copic work with coloured pencils for the first time (I’m really happy with the extra texture it created in the hair).

There always has to be a little bit of shine somewhere, so I coloured the things in her hair with Spica pens. And while I was at it, took some baby steps into mixed media for the background with layers of Distress stain spray, Distress ink blending through stencils, collage medium, and Distress crayons. There’s a full list of supplies used, including the Copic colours and pencils, at the bottom of this post.

GIVEAWAY : 12 GOODIE BAGS !
That’s TWELVE CHANCES TO WIN during the three-day hop. The more you comment on each hopper’s blog or Instagram the more chances you have of winning. Winners will be chosen randomly FROM THE BLOGS and INSTAGRAM hop comments. The contest closes at 11pm EST on November 13th and the full list of winners will be announced at 9am EST on Wednesday November 16th over at www.thedailymarker.com.
Now it’s time to hop to my friend Marika over at Craftybit Creations.
Thank you for your visit today and I hope to see you during the colouring challenge. Be sure to use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day so we can find your work, or you can join the Facebook group here.

It’s really not too late. I only started cardmaking around three years ago and only picked up my first Copics just over two years ago. And I hadn’t done much in the way of art or colouring since I left school (which was quite some time ago) and, to be honest, I wasn’t much good at it then 😁

Did you take a class?

I did about half of Online Card Classes “Copic Markers for Card Makers” before getting distracted – that was a really good grounding. I also did Sandy Allnock’s “Copic Jumpstart” class which makes you think about colour a lot more. But mostly I watched Youtube videos 🙂
Take a look at my latest post for links to the classes and me thinking about the learning process…
