Misc: Magician Mae

magician-maeInspired by Erica on Instagram, I decided it was time to have a dig through my collections of backgrounds, die-cut pieces and bits of colouring and see if I could match them up and turn them into cards. I’ve seen these piles of odds and ends referred to as UFOs — unfinished objects — but I think Erica’s name for them is much classier: PhDs, or Projects Half Done.

How:

I had coloured and fussy cut the magician at the same time I did the other Some Odd Girl Maes for the twins’ card a couple of months ago. Looking through my background stash, I came across the foil experiments I did when I got hold of some Minc spray and paint, and decided that the rainbow spritz background would be perfect for her.

The sentiment is a mix of two completely separate stamp sets put together with some careful inking; I stamped and heat embossed the “magic’ first and then used some Post-It tape to shield it and just stamped the bits of the other sentiment that I wanted. I gave the sentiment strip a fishtail and tucked it behind the magician, which I popped up on foam tape.
