I didn’t have anything in my stash that was inspiring me to make a Father’s Day card for my other half’s dad so I went on the hunt for digi stamps; unfortunately my usual sources weren’t sparking my imagination. A quick search later and I came across Di’s Digi Stamps which looks like it will be a good source of images (I’ve already spotted a likely candidate for my mum’s birthday, if I can wait that long to use it). More importantly, I found a relaxed bear that would work well for Father’s Day.
How:
I started out by doing a bit of digital stamp surgery. When I first started colouring this bear I realised that there were some structural issues with the deckchair he was sitting on; the main one being that the fabric seat was wrapped around the outside of the front leg! There were other problems with it too, but that was the most obvious one and, luckily, the easiest to fix (the other issues I could ignore).
Once the colouring was finished, I trimmed a little off the panel to leave a narrow top and bottom border when I mounted it on the card base. I created the sentiment strip using a similar range of blues as on the deckchair, just a lighter blend, and stamped the sentiment with a Lawn Fawn alphabet.
The image panel was mounted flush to the card base and the sentiment was popped up on some thin foam tape.
