greeting cards

Birthday: Simple masculine

banner card

Another catch-up post; this card was originally made on February 4th.

This was a quick card for my nephew. He’s at that awkward age — nineteen — where his dad is no use whatsoever when asked what his interests are (other than “girls” and that’s really not the sort of card he’d want to receive from his aunt 😉 )

How:

Almost all of the elements were in my spare die cuts box, even the embossed sentiment. In fact, apart from the card base, the only new piece was the small central banner which I cut from some craft foil.

After I’d spent way too much time rearranging the pieces into a pattern I was happy with, I glued everything apart from the sentiment flat to the black panel. The sentiment was popped up on some thin foam tape.

Of course, the most important part was the strip of card that I added to the inside to hold a cheque in place 🙂
