Valentine’s Day: Mini bots

Valentine's card

The first of my catch-up posts. This card was originally created on February 12th, which means this post is only three months late.

These mini bots are just so cute, they were perfect for a Valentine card for my other half. The third bot is supposed to be a Cupid with his hand-drawn arrow, but has ended up looking kinda like a lurking serial killer 🙂

How:

This is a fairly straightforward card; some masked stamping to build up the image that was then coloured with Copic markers and matted onto a plain background with hand-drawn stitch lines around the edges. There are a couple of extra touches though… I stamped the sentiment on some masking paper, fussy cut it out leaving a border and used it to mask over the stamped sentiment on the card. Then I masked everything else off as well and airbrushed the background with a pale blue Copic marker. This gave me a nice clear white outline that made the sentiment stand out from the soft sky behind everything. I also used a light blue marker to draw around the hearts, giving a subtle outline.
