What:
So, I checked my stash of Christmas cards. And then I checked my Christmas card list. And then I had a little panic. And then I came up with a design that I could create multiple variations of.
How:
First I stamped a load of critters and snowmen and coloured them with Inktense pencils. I used my Brother ScanNCut to cut out the ones it could clearly recognise and fussy cut the rest (the ones with less-defined outlines).
I trimmed a bunch of panels from kraft cardstock, stamped the background snowflakes with Versamark on each, and heat embossed them with a variety of embossing powders. A little Distress ink was blended around the edges. These panels were mounted flat on the card bases.
I cut strips for the sentiment from red and ivory cardstock and used my MISTI to stamp them. The MISTI was so helpful, not just with stamping sixteen strips, but especially with stamping white ink on the textured red card, which needed three impressions to get a solid result. The strips were then mounted on the cards and the critters and snowmen were popped up using foam tape.
Finishing touches included judicious application of Wink of Stella on the critters and a couple of sequins on each card with a dot of stickles in the centre.
I could have made them a lot simpler, but I’m really pleased with how they turned out and how the batch creation process worked.
