I think I used Pebeo Mixtion Paste (it’s actually very fluid) to get the fine lines on this, painted it on with a small brush and then added imitation gold leaf over the top. Pebeo also make Mixtion Relief which comes in a fine-tipped tube and gives a more dimensional effect. There are quite a lot of glues you can use – basically anything that dries tacky will work. You can also use gilding flakes rather than the sheets though that won’t give quite such a shiny finish.
