The butterfly outlines were leftover from making birthday cards for the twins last summer. I cut the remaining alcohol ink scraps down to size, stuck them onto art cards and then stared at them for a while trying to decide what to do next.
After much pondering, I decided to paint one of each pair matt black. I kept considering my options, but eventually kept it simple and painted the other silver. The small “rusted” cogs came from the leftovers pot, I just added some black flakes into the holes.
The slightly unusual finishing touch came in the form of some pieces of steri-strip. Never let anything go to waste…
Very pretty! I love the contrast between the black and silver.
