The main technique for the second day of the Artful Academy Supply Savvy challenge was using cling film with acrylic paint to create a textured background. I’ve done this with watercolour paint before and it turned out really nicely, but for some reason it just didn’t work that well here — I must give it another go because I do like the effect when it works properly.
The painted heart was a lot more effective; a bit of a book page stuck to card and painted red, cut out and loosely outlined in black pen. I layered a word sticker onto black card and found a metal heart in my stash. Then it was just a case of arranging all the pieces together with a couple of scraps of sequin waste and gluing everything in place.

Supplies:
Card, acrylic paint, gesso, gel medium, cling film, book paper, metal charm, word sticker, black permanent pen, scrap of sequin waste.
