Series: The Daily Marker Art Card #21
Another girl digi — quite an old one — from The East Wind and another attempt at non-Caucasian skin. Once again I started testing with a combo from Sandy Allnock’s human rainbow but ended up tweaking the selection to something that seems to work better with the way I colour skin.
I tried repeating the background technique I used on the green fairy. This time there was much more variation in the tone of the colours and it gave a more mottled feel, which is absolutely fine as I was going for a kind of woodland feel.

What a great job on your skin tones! I always seem to get in the habit of using the same colors for my skin tones. I need to vary them up a bit! Thanks for the reminder!

It’s so easy to just use the same ones each time… I was thinking about doing a blog post when I’ve got a few combinations that I’m happy with, though given how much I had to tweak Sandy’s before they worked for me, I don’t know how useful it would be…
