Series: The Daily Marker Art Card #11
I wanted to try something a little bit different with this one. There was quite a bit of blank space in the background and that called out for something other than a simple colour fill or even a grass/sky landscape. I decided to have a go at creating a subtle mottled feel for a change.
I picked three colours of similar intensity — it would look really patchy if one was significantly more or less saturated — and started by covering the background with blobs of the three markers. Next, I went over the blobs again, with the same colours, but using dots instead of solid colour to add texture. Finally, to even out the texture, I went over the whole background with light dots again, this time using my 0 marker.
