Skull and crossbones

CR00522 square

Valentine’s Day take 2. After the slight misjudgement in the choice of design for my original card, I had to come up with a replacement. Luckily, Valentine’s Day fell in the middle of the latest Daily Marker colouring challenge, so I had other images to choose from, including this skull with the heart eyepatch.

Now, after the reaction to the “love you to pieces” bunny, you might think I was taking a risk with putting a skull on the replacement card. And normally you would be right. But luckily, my other half saw the skull when I coloured it and I knew he liked it, so all I had to do was to turn it into a card.

Which was harder — or at least more time-consuming — than it might have been. I had the idea of fussy-cutting it and layering it over die-cut hearts, which is what I ended up doing, but the amount of time I spent arranging everything until I had a layout I was happy with was simply ridiculous!

But it was well received so it was definitely worth the effort.
