Christmas town

CR00414 square

My first small batch of Christmas cards. I’m not sure how many I’ll make this year — I must sit down and work out how many I really need — but I think it will have to be fewer than I made last year. Either that or I need to get them all finished well before December. The last minute rush to get everything done in time last year completely killed my mojo…

This design is sort of inspired by all the snow globe imagery you inevitably see when browsing Christmas card ideas, but rather than go out and buy a specific die, I improvised.

I die-cut a circle from black card and the town scene from grey card. Then I die-cut the town scene again out of the lower third of the black circle so that the two pieces could be inlaid together on the card front.

The sentiment was stamped across the bottom, lots of snowy dots were added across the black, and a small blob of gold glitter added a touch of shine to the largest window.

The design is simple enough that I made a set of six.

  1. Perfect for mass production and classy enough to stand on their own. I have yet to start my Christmas cards. I started really early last year, but still ended up in a rush. This time I’m cutting down on the hand made ones. Just all too much and you are right, a complete mojo killer at the end of it. Xx

    1. I may well do some more of these, just swap in some different cardstock maybe, as they are nice and easy to make. The problem last year was I left making the special cards for close friends and family until too late and those are the ones you can’t really send a store-bought card to without offending someone! Time to make a list…

    1. The heat of the summer seems to have deserted us in the south of England – it’s mostly grey and rainy with the occasional bit of sunshine – so winter isn’t much of a stretch of the imagination 😦
