The bonus lessons for the wrap-up day of the Clear and Sheer card class were on shaker cards. I’ve made a few shaker cards in the past, but I’ve always used acetate for them; it had never occurred to me to use vellum, so I had to give it a go.
And I really like the result. From the distressed embossing on the front to the way the sequins and the background paper are muted by the vellum, and not forgetting the sound the sequins make against the vellum. I really ought to revisit this technique…
Supplies:
- dies:
Create A Smile – thanks twice - stencils:
Tim Holtz – flourish - embossing powder:
Judikins – black detail - embellishments:
Doodlebug – 6mm sequins – lily white, beetle black, bubblegum - paper and card:

Papermill Direct – super smooth – white - miscellaneous:
Ranger – emboss it dabber
Another catch-up post. This card was created on 6th May 2016 as part of the Online Card Classes Clear and Sheer class.
Wow! I would have never thought of making a shaker card using vellum. I will put that on my list to try! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
