Birthday card: Party hat

Party hat

What:

A birthday card for my other half’s nephew. And a good excuse to expand my stash further by acquiring a set of the Tim Holtz blueprint stamps; I’ve liked this range since I first saw them, but this was the first time I could really justify (for low levels of justify) picking some up.

Inspired by:

After a quick search to get a feel for how people were using the blueprint stamps — mostly straight stamping mounted over a background paper or similar — I found this Simon Says Stamp blog post and liked the layering and the file-tab-style sentiment.

Supplies:

  • stamps:
    Tim Holtz – birthday blueprint
Hero Arts – it’s your day
    Clearly Besotted – basic stripes
  • colour:
Avery Elle – pigment ink – cherry (background stripes)
Hero Arts – Hero Hues – black (stamping)
    Stazon – jet black (sentiment)
    Derwent – artbar (colouring)
  • embellishments:
    Ranger – glossy accents
