Amigurumi blue heron

Around fifteen years ago I went through a phase of making amigurumi and then, five years ago, I made a series of blog posts documenting them all. Where I could, I linked through to the original pattern, or at least identified the book I had got the design from. The one exception was the blue heron, I have no idea where it came from in spite of much searching. All I have is a text file with the basic stitches and no assembly instructions, though hopefully the photo of my finished bird will help.

And of course, this is the pattern that I’ve had a few questions about. The most recent one has prompted me to create this page with the basic pattern in the hope that some might find it useful.

I hope that the pattern makes sense, it’s been a very long time since I made this or did any crochet so please forgive me for not adding more detail to it.

If you are the creator of this pattern, please let me know and I will happily either remove the pattern or give credit and link to you if you prefer.
