I have a couple of boxes in my stash: one has all the card off-cuts left over from various projects and the other is full of backgrounds and pieces that I’ve created while testing different techniques over the years. And those two boxes, along with some surplus bits from last year’s Christmas cards, were my first port of call when it came to starting work on this year’s cards.

The background panels were cut out of a masterboard that I created back in 2017 and used for one of that year’s cards. The die is from a double stitched rectangle set that I’ve had since 2016 and it is probably my most frequently used die set.
The snowflakes and the white “merry” were all cut from card scraps. The pink “merry” is from an alcohol ink experiment and the other is from when I was testing Deco foil transfer gel.

The heat-embossed Christmases are leftover from last year’s embroidered snowflakes and trees.
I did invest in a couple of new dies as well: an oversized “merry christmas” word die (from Waffle Flower) and some new snowflakes to add to my collection. I could have used my Cricut Maker to cut out something similar (and in fact I did use it for some other cards this year) but I decided to treat myself instead.
