Bunny twins

I mentioned that I had two pairs of twins to make cards for this year, and this is the other one. At least when they’re newborn I only need to make one card and it’s really more of a congratulations card for the parents at this point.

I had a quick browse around for any digi stamps specifically for twins but couldn’t find anything that I liked among the surprisingly few stamps I found. I turned to my stash and got out the baby bunny digi I used a few years ago. Of course, with it being for twins I needed to have two bunnies so I brought it into my image editor, removed the blanket fold lines, duplicated the bunny, flipped one around and arranged them so they were laying close together.

While I was working on the computer, I added the stars, heart, sentiment and frames. I now have a little HP laser printer which will print on Neenah card stock (even if the specs say it can’t take paper that heavy) so I can break out my toner-reactive foil again!

Of course I had to be very careful arranging the foil on the printed image to avoid accidentally foiling any bits of the bunnies. But it worked and the amethyst watercolour foil looks really pretty on everything but the heart which I used a touch of hot pink for.

I kept the Copic colouring simple, choosing light colour blends from two different E ranges so that they would be very similar but not identical (though they apparently are identical twins, but I didn’t know that at the time).

Wanting to get the card in the post — the girls were a few day earlier than planned — I decided not to add any coloured pencil, and just finished it off with some dots of black Glaze pen to emphasise the eyes.

Copic markers:

left bunny – BV00, E43, E42, E41
right bunny – BV00, E33, E31, E30
grey – W03, W01, W00
pink – E04, E02
