I haven’t done much in the way of creative endeavours so far this year, but I have managed to focus and update a few things on the blog.
Galleries
At the end of last year I mentioned that I was planning on creating galleries for each year since I started making handmade cards, but I really wasn’t expecting to get them all finished this quickly! So now you can find Galleries on the site menu up above⬆︎ with a page for each year from 2014–2022. I even made a page for the Just Colouring posts.
Categories
I was finding myself increasingly annoyed by the mess in the sidebar, so, after struggling to tidy it up for far too long, I decided it had to go. I moved the search and subscribe forms to the footer along with the categories list. But that moved the navigation too far out of the way, so I created a menu for the Categories as well.
There is also a new category Making Art: this will be home to all the testing, techniques and review posts, basically anything that is about making art rather than looking at a finished piece.
Random
And while I was doing that I discovered that it is possible to create a link that will go to a Random post on the blog — another way of surfacing old posts — so I added that as well.
About
I’ve added a couple of pages to the About menu. The first is a Link List which lists the latest posts here and all the other places I lurk on the internet. I needed somewhere to use as a link on my Instagram profile, but it’s handy to have it all in one place. The other page details all the ways you can Follow this blog.
Next
That is all the structural changes I have planned. For a brief moment I considered switching to a new theme but quickly came to my senses. My next job will be to fill out some of the sections, especially Making Art and the Freebies.
Wow! You did get that done rather quickly! I’m hoping to accomplish this in a few months as I am still working. I am looking forward to retirement in 11 weeks! Hopefully I will be able to get a lot more crafting done and get to those things like re-organizing my blog! Thanks for the inspiration!

No-one is more surprised than me that I finished them already! I just got into the habit of doing a bit after breakfast each day and suddenly it was done.

I need to set aside time like that to get the many things done that I want to get done.

Going from ‘working’ to ‘not working’ is weird; you have all this time and a long list of things you want to do, but a lot of the external motivating factors to keep busy have gone. It took me quite a while to get into a new routine… (but it is really nice to have all that extra time)
