You may have noticed that I didn’t post anything last week, checks, actually it’s been two weeks since my last blog post. I had hoped that easing off the (self-imposed) pressure to post regularly would have allowed me to catch up a bit — instead, I spent the time making two Mother’s Day cards and an 18th birthday card and spending hours trying to come up with things other people could get me for my birthday (I am uninspired at the moment). On top of that, the medication I’m on is adding to my general fatigue and I’m feeling beyond tired.
On the plus side, at the start of the month, a very kind friend drove me the 150 miles to visit my mum who I hadn’t seen since November 2019. We talk on the phone regularly, but it’s not the same as sitting down with a cup of tea and having a chat. We had glorious weather for the drive up as well, which was lovely; grey and rainy on the way back, but you can’t have everything…
And today is my birthday and we’re off to the Tate Modern to see Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms and the Surrealism Beyond Borders exhibition. This will be the first place I have been inside with the public, other than hospitals and the like, since the pandemic started. I’m looking forward to it, but I know it will take me several days to get my energy back afterwards.
I do have things to blog about, and I will get the posts written, it just might take me a short while to get caught up. Love to you all, and I’ll be back as soon as I can.
