Quick play: Twig on blue

Ever since we started watching the Hilda cartoon series on Netflix, I’ve had the thought in the back of my mind that I wanted to try drawing Twig, the deerfox, but I hadn’t got around to doing it.

Then the September Scrawlrbox subscription arrived with a selection of black and white supplies and a pad of blue paper, and it inspired me to have a quick play and this is the result.

I find animal shapes tricky to draw — I’m never quite sure where best to start — so I had a quick search and found a “How to draw Twig” tutorial and gave it a go. And it worked! I created a quick background for Twig and called it done.

And I only used a few of the supplies in the box so there’s plenty left to experiment with. I might try to create a more detailed version next time.
