I want to get more confident with layering paints and other colouring mediums, so when this post went past on The Crafter’s Workshop blog earlier this year, I thought I’d have a go at replicating the style.

I didn’t keep track of the exact supplies I used. The colour came from acrylic paints, the white is gesso and a water-soluble black pen added some contrast. The stencil is mini chica doodle from The Crafter’s Workshop.

The paper pieces came from a copy of Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying. (It is so hard sacrificing books this way!)

I did write the words out by hand to start with, but I wasn’t happy with how it looked. I ended up using an alphabet stamp set to stamp over them.

Great bunch! I know what you mean. I love other people’s handwriting but regret whenever I use my own.
