Bunny with daffodils

I really wasn’t going to make any Easter cards this year but then I thought, well, it’s been a while since I’ve done any Copic colouring and Easter cards are a good excuse for breaking out a digi stamp and getting out my markers. (I think I’ve only ever made one Easter card that didn’t involve Copic colouring.)

This was, in part, prompted by my browsing Etsy for random stuff and coming across this Bunny Blooms digi stamp from Lili of the Valley — it’s super cute and perfect for an Easter card.

I printed the digi stamp onto Neenah Solar White card using a baby mono laser printer. This was not the best option. It’s great for printing black lines, but I had wanted to have more of a no-line effect for this card and I forgot that it prints grey as scattered dots of black and then I only remembered that fact when I was sorting out the photos for this post… I should have printed it on my other half’s colour laser printer which, I think (I must do some testing), would have worked better. But I didn’t notice when I was actually colouring it and it is only really noticeable on the close-up photos.

I did my usual Copic colouring and then added some coloured pencil on top of the Copic, just enough to add a little bit of definition to the darkest shadow and a bit more shape to the bunny’s face. The eyes were added with a black Sakura Glaze pen.

After finishing the colouring, I trimmed the panel down and layered it on top of a couple of patterned paper panels for a change (I have to use up some of this patterned paper somehow). I heat-embossed the sentiment onto coloured vellum and attached it to the card with tiny dots of glue hidden behind the sequin and the heat-embossing.

Copic markers:

daffodils – BV000, Y17, Y15, Y13
leaves – R85, YG67, YG63
bunny – E55, E53, E51, E50
ground – W5, W3, W1, YG11
