Misc: Magician Mae

magician-maeInspired by Erica on Instagram, I decided it was time to have a dig through my collections of backgrounds, die-cut pieces and bits of colouring and see if I could match them up and turn them into cards. I’ve seen these piles of odds and ends referred to as UFOs — unfinished objects — but I think Erica’s name for them is much classier: PhDs, or Projects Half Done.

Blank: Magic slider card

Another catch-up post; this card was originally made on May 6th as part of the Clear and Sheer class.

A magic slider card has been on my list of techniques to try ever since I first saw one. I’ve come across a few tutorials, but the one from Kelly Marie Alvarez in Online Card Classes’ Clear and Sheer class is so well explained it actually gave me the confidence to try it myself. If you have any interest in using vellum and acetate on your cards, I would really recommend this class — so many ideas…

Another catch-up post; this card was originally made on February 12th as part of the Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.

This is the coloured pencil version of my “colouring on kraft” trial. I find pencils to be physically much harder work than Copics, but I do like the results so I shall persevere, occasionally… The Copic version is over here for comparison.
