Birthday: Coloured space bears

This was the first time I’d coloured these stamps and I originally only got them out of my stash pile because they were ideal for a bit of Copic Jumpstart class homework, but then I realised they were perfect as the main element on a card for Seven Hills Crafts’ latest sketch challenge.

1st birthday: Pink and sparkly

1st birthday card

How quickly time flies; a year has already passed since I was making a welcome card for baby Amelia. Of course, I forgot to put her birthday on my cards to-do list so I didn’t get a reminder to start making this card — I normally give myself plenty of time to come up with card ideas, but this had to be go from “no idea” to “in the post” in short order.

After much pondering, my poor cold-addled brain finally came up with the idea of having a large number one with some animals on balloons. I also saw the opportunity to use the Mama Elephant rainbow die that I’d just picked up from Seven Hills Crafts. I could probably have used one of my (many) so-far-unused stamp sets, but the carnival cupcakes critters were just perfect for this card.

BluebellsI’ve been meaning to take part in Seven Hills Crafts’ monthly challenge for quite a while, but I keep forgetting about it until it’s too late… This month the challenge sketch was still fresh in my mind when I got the “from all of us” set from Clearly Besotted with its lovely bluebells and I immediately knew what I wanted to do for it.

Birthday card: Pisces

What:

When I heard that the theme of Kathy Racoosin’s pop-up challenge was going to be “lines”, my brain started ticking over. One of my current aims is to use some of the pieces I have in my stash; both painted backgrounds and images I’ve created for previous colouring challenges. I coloured a full set of zodiac toppers a while ago and haven’t used any of them yet, so I decided to take one of the watery signs and create some flowing lines as a background for it.
