Hello tortoise!

I don’t care if the digi stamp is called “hello friend turtle”, it has feet not flippers so it must be land-dwelling, therefore it’s a tortoise (checks… okay, technically all tortoises are turtles but still…). Now I’ve got that out of my system, on to the card 🙂

It’s been a while since I took part in Gerda’s progressive challenge — I missed out on adding my entry for the November challenge and, what with one thing and another, I hadn’t got around to rejoining — but I’m still on the mailing list and when I saw this month’s image, I thought I’d pick it up in the store and start up again.

This card was created on 30th November; day 30 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.

This was going to be my entry for this month’s progressive challenge over at Gerda Steiner Designs, but I’ve finally been caught out by last minute creations. Normally the link-up is open until the end of the last day of the month (and the timezone difference gives me a few extra hours), but this time it was already closed when I looked this afternoon.

Like a lot of the cards I created during the colouring challenge, I didn’t start out with any real idea of what the final card would look like; I was just colouring images for the fun of colouring. This card started with the happy ice-cream and built from there.

Hello: Polaroid mermaid

I swear that next month, whatever image Gerda gives us for the progressive challenge, I am just going to colour it and put it on a card base1. That was, more or less, my intention this month, but then I saw all the creative things that people were doing with this scene and I wanted to do something different if I could. I was still planning on doing something simple when I started tidying up after creating another card… and there was a spare Polaroid die-cut on the desk… doomed…
