Glitter cogs with stripes

This nearly ended up in the bin.

I had die cut the cogs from both pearlised grey and a panel of black card, layered them over some double-sided adhesive sheet and added an ombre glitter effect inside the cogs. But I wasn’t very happy with the result and, try as I might, I could not come up with anything that I liked at all. I hate throwing things out though, so it sat on my desk for a day while I did some other sparkly things and pondered.

Christmas: Poinsettia and pine

These cards were created on 12th and 13th November; day 12 and 13 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.

Working my way through some of my unused stamps, I decided to use this poinsettia to make a couple of more traditionally styled Christmas cards. I kept the layouts simple, and stuck to a red, green and white/cream colour scheme with a little bit of gold and sparkle.

This was the first time I’d coloured these stamps and I originally only got them out of my stash pile because they were ideal for a bit of Copic Jumpstart class homework, but then I realised they were perfect as the main element on a card for Seven Hills Crafts’ latest sketch challenge.

Another catch-up post; this card was originally made on February 1st on the first day of the Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge. I couldn’t share it then though, as the person it was made for also follows me on Instagram, so I restricted myself to posting the circle that was die cut from the panel 🙂
