Violet bow

Today is one of those days where I keep staring at the text editor and try to come up with another way of describing my card-making process, al the while my brain is sitting there resolutely refusing to come up with any relevant words. So, as this blog post is supposed to go up tomorrow — I have a posting plan for the next month and some of it is even written — I’ll just start typing and see where that gets me.

This is another Power Poppy digital stamp and like the acorn ornaments, it has been sitting unused for some time. And the same can be said for the next two cards on my posting schedule. I’m not doing it in a particularly organised way, but I am trying to make a point of using as yet unloved supplies at least once.

I think I initially put off colouring this one because it’s such a simple image and I find clean and simple quite daunting as a design style. But I coloured this for the latest 30 day colouring challenge where there wasn’t the immediate pressure to turn it into a card. In the end, the thing that makes this work for me is the glitter drops across the background; those just seemed to bring it all together.

Copic markers:

ribbon – Y28, V09, V17, V15 glazed with BV13
edges – YR07, YR04
shadow – W2
