Another month, another cute digi stamp from Gerda Steiner to play with.
I can’t believe that it took so long for it to dawn on me that making a whole row of small frilly-topped carrots might just be a little fiddly to colour. Or that fussy cutting several individual carrots might also be more, well… fussy. But once I had the idea for the card I wasn’t about to discard it and start again from scratch.
How quickly time flies; a year has already passed since I was making a welcome card for baby Amelia. Of course, I forgot to put her birthday on my cards to-do list so I didn’t get a reminder to start making this card — I normally give myself plenty of time to come up with card ideas, but this had to be go from “no idea” to “in the post” in short order.
After much pondering, my poor cold-addled brain finally came up with the idea of having a large number one with some animals on balloons. I also saw the opportunity to use the Mama Elephant rainbow die that I’d just picked up from Seven Hills Crafts. I could probably have used one of my (many) so-far-unused stamp sets, but the carnival cupcakes critters were just perfect for this card.
I’ve been meaning to take part in Seven Hills Crafts’ monthly challenge for quite a while, but I keep forgetting about it until it’s too late… This month the challenge sketch was still fresh in my mind when I got the “from all of us” set from Clearly Besotted with its lovely bluebells and I immediately knew what I wanted to do for it.
