Easter: Jump rope bunny

I have thought of so many different designs for this month’s challenge image in the last three weeks, but I wasn’t really happy with any of them. Then I finally came up with one that I actually liked enough to make.

How:

I started by printing out the bunny on Copic-friendly Neenah solar white card, which goes through my inkjet printer nicely. I know some people have problems with printer ink bleeding with Copics, but I’ve never had any issues with ours (a Canon MX925).

I fussy cut out the circle behind the bunny and coloured him and the background with Copic markers.

The border around the circle was die cut, trimmed to size and glued in place. Then I doodled the scalloped edge around it.

The skipping rope was created by piercing a hole at the base of each handle and threading through some white cord, which was glued in place on the front and taped down on the back.

I die cut a smaller circle in the card base and used an ink blending tool to create a smooth patch of blue sky behind it. I added a few tiny butterflies for a splash of colour.

Then I just had to build the shaker element. Clear acetate was fixed over both apertures and a large amount of foam tape was added to the back of the front panel. A selection of blue, yellow and clear sequins was piled in the centre of the window on the card base and the panel was carefully fixed in place over the top.
